Wool. It’s a sheep's fur. And Merino Wool is the Beyonce of all wools. We made our Army Blankets with 100% Merino Wool because we wanted to make something that had a smooth, luxury feel with the durability of a hardcore army blanket. The Merino is a breed of sheep originally from Spain but perfected in the Australian Outback since 1797. The animal survives in extreme conditions, making it’s fur breathable in summer and insulating in winter, yet exceptionally soft and lightweight. At this stage, Australia exports about 88% of the world's merino wool. That’s a lot of sheep! Approximately 70 million, in fact, or about 3 of this guy: Merino’s secret is in its exceptionally fine fibres which make it the softest wool on earth. Unlike...
TL/DR: We wanted a nicer-looking tiny hammock that you could bring in your carry-on luggage. Why we designed it Can you think of anything more serene than hanging from the trees and watching the world go by? Some of our favourite outdoor memories were made, strung up to a tree, with a tinny in hand, bantering with mates. Our top 5 hammock moments: Strung up on the beach in Vieques, Puerto Rico with wild horses trotting past. Fish fries at Granny's house in Pensacola, Florida. Reading "Atlas Shrugged” under the palm trees in Barbados. Watching whales breech at Red Bluff, Western Australia. Scoping the surf break at San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. BUT… Great hammocks are too heavy, and light hammocks are poor quality or ugly or...
Australia. She’s a big, wild and sometimes weird place. She has just about everything your adventuring heart could desire from snowy mountain tops to epic waves and ragged trails between for your two legs (or two wheels) to connect the dots. The thing you’ll find is that no two places are the same. Every pit stop offers up a new adventure. Navigating the big island can be a bit daunting even for the most experienced natives. There are certain people along the way that can help you out. They are not just from a place, they are the place. They are the lifeblood of their dot on the map. They know the ins and out and they can take your journey...
UPDATE: It's not a pop-up if you linger around like a bad smell. Check out our stockists for updated in-store locations. __________ We’ve gone and done it. We’ve plucked ourselves from the world wide web and placed two Ghosty feet firmly on terra firma. Welcome to Howdy Coffee, home of Ghost Outdoors' first brick and mortar store front. We created a simple pop-up earlier this month to give you a chance to check out the amazing feel and function of our products first hand. We’re in good company at Howdy, alongside fellow locals Lana and Diggs, who create a flash line of dog collars and leads, and florist-slash-interior-greenery-guru The Wildflower Perth. Up next: we hear there’s a gallery show in...
